Very interesting. I am guessing the CX-5 would do even better with more ground clearance. With proper tires, I haven’t had any issues with my 2014 model cx-5 with traction or mild off-road action. If the newer ones are even better, I may have to stay with the CX-5 in the future.

So I’ll ask you here in case you didn’t see it; why do the rear tires drag at the launch in sport mode @ 6:22?

The clearance is probably fine given the target market (and relatively firm suspension setup.) It’s interesting that Mazda’s own press information said it had only 6.9-inches unladen. We called them on it and they corrected it to 7.9-inches, which is what it really is . So, at least it’s not as bad as they were initially claiming.
